Why this exists

Most VA rating calculators are wrong.

Most VA rating calculators combine your ratings with continuous math — a simple formula that produces a smooth decimal. The VA doesn't do that. 38 CFR § 4.25 defines a table, and that table rounds to a whole number at every combination step.

The difference isn't cosmetic. A veteran with 10% + 70% + 80% combines to a raw value of 95 under the VA's actual method — which rounds up to 100%. Continuous math produces 94.6, which rounds down to 90%. That gap is $1,576 a month. Every divergence we've found understates the veteran's rating — never the other way.

Our combined-rating math is verified against all 684 cells of the VA's official Combined Ratings Table (38 CFR § 4.25) — not our own derivation of the formula, the government's actual published numbers, checked cell by cell. Read how we found the bug.

Combined Rating Calculator

The real § 4.25 table method — rounded at every step, the way the VA actually does it.

Bilateral Factor (§ 4.26)

Most free calculators skip it or get it wrong. 30% + 20% on both legs is 50%, not 40%.

Path to 100

The single most-asked question in VA disability. 100% requires a raw combined value of 95 — not 100.
